I had Dish Network for close to 2 years, through three moves, however my current apartment doesn't have an available south-facing view so I am stuck with cable. Unless, of course, I want to put the Dish in a cement pan in my driveway and hope it doesn't get too windy. (Someone else did this.)
I seriously miss it. Cable sucks. The analog signal of this supposedly "digital" AT&T broadband product is misleading. Not all the channels are transmitted digitally. You can tell a channel is digital when you tune to it, you will see a sort of blocky decoding process - this is the internal MPEG decoder inside the cable/sat receiver decompressing the digital signal. Analog signals are fuzzy - always. There is signal degredation throughout the line. AT&T "digital" broadband is a lie, very misleading, however that's really the only way I'm going to watch TV unless I get rabbit ears.
Anyway - Dish network is great. Even DirecTV would be better than cable, you can even get a DirecTV receiver with a TiVo built in. Enjoy.
