In saab's most popular part of the US - New England, Saab is not quirky or special. If there is only one Saab on a block, you live on the wrong block.
Saabs surely outnumber BMW in Maine. You don't have to be someone special to drive one. Many a high school/college age young people drive OG900's or
9000's. Many adults drive 9000/NG900/9-3/9-5's, and many older people drive
9-5/9-3/9000/900's. They are safe sporty cars here just like Lutz wants to
portray. Yeh, there are a few snobs that drive them, but every nice car has
them.
If Saab/GM wants the rest of the country to understand Saabs, then they've
got to look at how things work here in New England. The Saabs here do not
guarantee inexpensive exclusivity or uniqueness. If you want them, get a
classic antique anything to go along with your Saab.
