SVEN is my '84 base 900, and with only 157K he is headed to my daughter who wants Sven for her 16th birthday. And who am I to deny her a good Swede? Had Sven since new. Always works. Only a little quirky. Needs paint and a headliner, but after 18 New England winters I can't complain.
Have named most of my cars. My kids think it's a little weird, but they call the Saab Sven and tell people I name my cars.
My 78 Scirocco was Rocky
My 86 GTI was Rudolph the Red. He was red, always leaked in the rain, and as I told my wife, "Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear." (sorry!!)
A long gone 66 Volvo 122 Amazon was The Beast
My beastly 87 Chevy S-10 is the Old Dog, except when something is wrong with it (which is normal) when I call it a variety fo things we won't go into here.
The departed 93 Volvo 940 Turbo was the Swedish S**tbox. Horrible car.
Haven't named my wife's Explorer. Its' red, boxy and works.
There was Baybe (63 MG Midget), Garth (68 VW Beetle) and a couple with no names)
