What should I replace my Aero wagon with?

OK, fun and games are over. My girlfriend is going back to school for her Master's so that means bye-bye to my fancy car habit for a couple of years.
My '02 9-5 Aero wagon was my first Saab, but now I'm hooked. I want to replace it with a cheaper version.
My first instinct was a late 90's 9000 Aero, but I'm also considering anything from a late 80's SPG to a late 90's 900 Turbo. The cheapest choice would be the SPG, but I'm worried that might be getting a bit old for a reliable daily driver. At the upper end of the price range I'm looking at it appears I could get a 9000 Aero, or the 900 turbo for roughly the same price. I'm also considering a Volvo 850 turbo wagon. (about the same price as an Aero, it seems)
Which would you pick as a replacement for the 9-5? I want it to do the same things as my 9-5- fun, safe, practical (hauling camping gear and dogs around) and it wouldn't hurt if it was fast too, but good handling would be fine without blistering speed. It would be nice if I could go a few months without having to do major service as well.
Is it worth 2-3 times the price for a 9000 or 900 turbo over the SPG?
Are there any particular models I should avoid, or look into? It will definitely be a turbo 4, with MT.
TIA for all of your help!
