sounds fairly true... many talk about the higher taxes in Canada vs USA, but we pay about $75/y to register whether it is a 20 year old Toyota Corrolla or a Ferrari. Plus $30 to e-test every 2 years... periodically these costs go up a little... the only tax based on the value of the vehicle is a sales tax when you buy (based on either the price you pay, or the book value eg if you got it way under what it is worth)... hence buying used cars saves in multiple ways!
