That's one minor Saab advantage. As far is service is concerned Saab doesn't have that $70-100+K customer to cater too.
I remeber my BMW days in the mid 80's. 3's, 5's and 7's all had sixes and similar service requirements. For 3's it was $300, for 5's it was $500 and for 7's it was $700, each according to his ability to pay....
As far as a 5 series go, you can buy a much newer Saab 9-5 for a lot less. A 9-5 Aero has more day to day punch, low end torque, than a 540 V8. Now wind that V8 up over 5,000 and the BMW excels.
