It's only a 2 valve per cylinder pushrod. It's a modernization of sorts of the old 3.4l. It does make 220 lb-ft of torque though. Supposedly a pretty smooth & strong engine, if the reviews of the Malibu are to be believed. 0-60 in 8 seconds, 23-32 mileage.
More interesting is a 3.9 V6 with ~250hp. An update of the old 3.8. Gets 21-29 mileage. Should be a good performer. No mention of it on that G6 site though.
