I stand corrected, secondary is high voltage.... I asked my buddy the ignition parts rep for a major American parts company, Borg Warner, and he says I'm goofy.
The secondary is the plugs and wires, the primary is the 12V.
Funny you should mention the electrical comparison. I'm an old linemans apprentice and the primary was always the high voltage, the secondary the lower, so I ASSumed it was the same for ignitions, but your analogy makes more sense, primary in, secondary out, and that works for lineman too.
