I have owned a 1996 Jaguar XJ6 (X300) normally aspirated 4.0 litre for the last 12 yrs and have put about 70K km on it. They are gorgeous cars to drive and the unique feline shape turns a lot of heads. The 1995-97 x300's with the AJ16 6 cyl are typically known to be amongst most reliable cars put out by Jaguar to the current date. I had originally budgeted $1000/yr in maint. So far, averages about $250/yr under my shade tree paws. Headroom is tight and rear leg room is limited unless you have the L version. You kind of pour yourself into the drivers seat which is surrounded by acres of beautiful burled walnut and the long wide "ski slope" centre console envelopes you. Some controls have a flakey design that the auto reviewers hated but I see them as a breath of fresh air in a sea of modern monotony. The 6 is cat quick in sport mode and the very low centre of gravity and extra wide track gives it a go-cart feel in the corners that I have not experienced in any other car. The last of the real Jaguar saloons before they morphed into Forduars.
