i believe it is every 180. if i remember correctly, there are 4 ports on the stock distributor disc, since the cam makes one revolution for every two of the crank, that puts the ports at every 180 degrees.
if you need it to hit 40-60 dbtdc, you should not have an issue. i had to set mine about the same. you have the freedom to pretty much spin the dist however far you want so you can get 40-60 dbtdc. i also had the ability to set the ignition input for a falling or rising leading edge; that allowed for more versatility in the set up.
also, if you are using the dist with the hall sensor, you will likely need to deactivate the diaphram. i drilled a small hole through the base of mine and placed a cotter pin through the arm that connects to the diaphram. you need to do more than just disconnect the vacuum hose because the sensor can and will move on you.
