My SAAB 95 9000 CE with AERO ECU, Mitsubishi TD04 Turbo with Boost Control Valve suddenly started driving herky jerky today on the highway.
Later while limping home I pulled a CEL and 6 flashes.
For a minute when I encountered the problem I thought I had burned out the Fuel Pump Relay again which led to a no start condition Saturday night on the turnpike.
However the car is driveable as long as you keep it under -3" of vacuum by watching my boost (vacuum gauge) and flipping the gas pedal so that it stays in the -10" to -20 range". If you try to lay on the gas and get it into the boost range, the fuel/boost cuts. Te highest I got was 3 psi. Thats how I got home.
What is funny is I have a Fuel Air Ratio meter on the dashboard that provides useless information since it swings between rich, medium and lean as it is hooked directly to the O2 sensor. (When my MAP vacuum hose became disconnected, the meter would read green.)
The Fuel Air meter is behaving normally since it swings between rich, medium and lean which I think means that the O2 sensor is okay. However I pulled 6 pulses on the CEL.
