diameter of hole on turbo compressor....

Hey there,
I am running a gt2871r on my 95 9000. When installing it, I had to modify the compressor housing side of the turbo to accomodate the hose that runs from the boost control valve to the compressor side. To accomplish the mod, I had to drill a hole so that pressure from the turbine could be sent to the boost control valve. Does it matter what the diameter of this hole is? Would the diameter of the drilled hole effect performance (e.g to small means power comes on slowly as opposed to a wider drilled hole in which power comes on faster)?
As always... TIA!
