These drivers schools are designed for people like you & me who have never done these before. There were probably 20 of us who have never done these events before & were starting at ground 1, so this is actually where you would want to start :o)
These are NOT races but you are simply out there to better your own driving skills. The first day I was getting my ass kicked by just about everyone then the 2nd day there were actually a few cars holding me up :o) But again, it's not a race!!!!!!!!
DI am attempting to talk my dad & brother into going to this event. My dad doesn't have a car to use so I will attempt to set up my 87 SPG for him to use. My brother has a 98 900 SET or a Toyota MR2 that he could use.
Putnam Park is suppose to be one of the BEST tracks to start to drive on. In almost every turn there is lots of grass where you can run across if you miss a apex.
After a few track events are done or if you are showing a consistant level of ability on the track, you will be bumbed into the next groop. My class was "C" & there was also "B", "A" as well as "I" for instructors. It's NOT how much power you have or how fast you go through the turns but consistance :o)
In the instructor class, there was a 770+BHP 911T as well as a 80 HP rabbit, but they both new how to drive :o)
