The thing is at 6200' up here in the hills the air density is so bad that 21psi at 6200' is close to the 12psi at sea-level... The Viggen was designed to be able to increase boost to comensate for elevation.
Of course if you have a stage 3 viggen with 20psi of boost at sea-level and come up to 6200', you will lose a good bit of power from sea-level and still boost 21psi, but the car will feel more like it would at sea-level with 12psi...
Density altitude sux! Whent its hot, say 95F plus, the density altitude can be 11,000 feet and the spool-up and power loses are very noticable.
I almost don't even boost my car hard when its hot in the summer, my w/m injection seems to help a good bit, but the thin air really does suck the power away... :-(
