Ok, so after realizing that it made no sense for them to use a 2.5 bar internal map sensor if the software map only went to 16 psi, i started messing around with the software it comes with so i can figure this out, since i will need to in order to use it on my friends 92...
here's what i came up with.
there are three system setup modes in the software.
1. vacuum / pressure - with a range of -28 to +16 psi
2. Gauge pressure - with a range of -4 to +26 psi
3. Absolute pressure - with a range of 0.7 to 30.7 psi
there is another mode for "voltage" only but this doesn't help.
So...
if you're running a lightly modified of modest tune under 16 psi... you can use the URD box for $250 exactly as i described above... tuning each cell throughout the entire boost/rpm range...
if you are running over 16 psi, you have to use one of the other two modes...
and what you sacrifice is the ability to tune your idle, and the ability to fully tune in closed loop operation ranges.
however...
for those of you wanting to tune your max boost air fuel ratios to 12.0 : 1... then this box is still an option for you
sorry for all the confusion. :)
again, trying to be accurate as possible before someone buys this stuff on my recommendation. ;)
