Absolute pressure includes atmospheric pressure, which will be in the vicinity of 14psi, but will depend on altitude. That mode is really very similar to the first one, in range. I don't think the -4 to 26 psi range will be very useful, since not only will the car idle below -4psi, it will be well below that at cruising speeds (in the vicinity of -10psi, or -50cmHg).
