I just ordered a 2001 93 aero convertible that has a 2.0L engine with 205 hp and 280 Nm of torque. My dealer offers me an option that consist of adding a kit raising the power to 230hp with a torque close to 320Nm or 330Nm (can't remember). He claims it's a genuine Saab conversion kit that is only installed at the dealer's level and doesn't change the warranty conditions at all.

Is this true? Has anyone done this before? Is this extra power realy noticable? Are there any drawbacks (part from extra fuel consumption) like increased engine wear, loss of reliability or increased maintenance services? Am I riking extra problems I wouldn't have without the mod?

In other words, are the +/- $1,600 USD he is asking for really worth it?

FYI, I live in Europe (luxembourg)
