There are good posts that address several aspects of the problem.
Tires: Tires with stiff side walls will produce more torque steer problems, especially on rutted pavements.
95 & 1/2 and onwards have smaller steel fabricated steering racks. The orginal was a much larger aluminum casting. Saab did not change the rack mount points or hardware. The origninal rack was mounted in a rather thin rubber bushing. For the new steering racks, they produced steering rack rubber bushings that just filled in the gap. So the later production has much more steering rack deflection than the original vehicle design. The fat rubber bushing was a stupid ill-considered short cut. So the torque steer problem, as contributed to by steering rack deflection, is much worse that for the first 1&1/2 years of ng900 production.
When you add the Viggen rescue kit, torque induced toe-in deflection is reduced, and the vehicle is much more controllable. But if the pavements are rutted, it will still get snakey. But if you hold the wheel firm, the vehicle will go straight. If you don't hold the wheel firmly, it will snake around. With the oem components, holding the wheel firmly did not do any good, and the wheel position was not a signicant factor as the rubbery bits were moving all over the place on their own.
