Regarding your seat of the pants feel about the Viggen vs Aero, I believe that the numbers that have been reported by most of the road test sources confirm the fact that the Viggen is quicker in acceleration than the Aero, even the manual shift version, but not by that much. I also have had the chance to test both the manual and auto Aero, and the Viggen, and for my money, there is no question that the Aero is the better choice. While the performance differences between the two must be measured at the dragstrip, the overall quality of the ride, ammenities, comfort, and detailing gives the advantage to the Aero. For me, the availability of an automatic transmission seals the deal. My 5 speed 9-5 is not the greatest shifting car I have owned, and I 'm now convinced that this job is better left to technology instead of my right arm and wrist. I have also noted that 9-5 s with automatics are generally quieter than their stick shift counterparts.
