Vince, I've never had a high end APC box, but I've recommended to others considering SDS that had an aftermarket APC to keep it in place. The only real advantage of the E system is having control of your timing curve, I feel that makes it worth the extra money. If you do go with SDS, be sure to get the 3 bar map sensor. I started with a 2 bar, I really thought that the resolution of the 3 bar would make it tough to get crusie right. The 2 bar just wasn't enough, I found that I was really needing 18-20psi of boost. I was able to do that with the 2 bar by bleeding a little boost at the sensor, but decided to give the 3 bar sensor a try. Unbelievably it was much easier to program than the 2 bar, of course I'd had more experience with the system by then also, but basically it worked so much better, I guess the ECU does a good of extrapolating between the adjustment points.
I'd like to see someone try the AMM signal conditioner, I'm sure there is potential there.
I also like the CIS idea, but that is an area that I'm almost clueless about.
I'd just really like for you to get that thing where you want it, I am confident that any decision you make will get you there. It's just going to take time, and money, both of which I am short on too.
