Redline in 1st gear will only get you to 31mph. The time it takes you to downshift, especially when double-clutching, is WAAAY longer than just putting your foot into it. Be aggressive man. In second gear at 25mph you're pulling 2,525rpm which is peak torque territory whereas first gear at 25mph is 4,810rpm which is past peak torque.
Here's another thing to consider. When you downshift to first you throw away 59lb-ft of torque. First gear is limited to 184lb-ft whereas second has a much healthier 243lb-ft. Keep it in second, put your foot to the floor, and just go. There's no downshifting necessary at all.
Again, with regard to the throttle response, I'd say you just need to be more aggressive and let the Trionic adjust to you. If it doesn't get any better after a week or two, then it's time to take it in and have the dealer look at it.
