Dropping the Subframe is pretty much a snap, you don't need to drop it all the way - just loosten it a little. In my case it was remove the two rear bolts, then remove the two middle bolts (directly inside from the strut towers). When you do this you get a decent amount of free play at the back of the subframe. Putting this back was a snap as the holes will all stay aligned. I second the recommendation of the helper as one will pry on the subframe while the other wiggles the bar out. The hardest trick for me was trying to figure out how to wiggle the bar out without it binding on anything. It can be done, but takes some thought and spacial reasoning. All in all it's not that bad... more finesse than brute force.
