I think the car (or maybe even the ECU) is the biggest variable. What you described above about either not being able to tell the valve was there or getting fuel cuts is exactly what I was experiencing in my 2000 Aero automatic. I took the same Dawes device and installed in my 2003 Aero manual with BSR stage 1 and the difference was night and day with complete adjustability. For testing purposes, I could hook up the PPC to reinstall the stock program and see if the results are the same or different than with the stage 1 program.
