Well, I removed as much of the soap as I could from the IC and the inside of the hose before I reinstalled.. but this is the third time the hose has been installed by me, so it's a little stretched out at this point.
So now I have it as dry as possible, and double clamped so this equals more friction, and I should be okay, right?
There are no beads on the hose barbs of the IC...maybe MP will consider that later..
I understand that I could scuff up the aluminum if I had to do the install over again -- but I'm trying to avoid that. With that in mind -- I've been driving the car today(and plan to continue) using NO positive boost (terribly difficult I might add) in order to give the pipe some time to "set" or whatever...
How long do I wait before I can be sure that whatever soap residue that's left over is dried? In other words.. I REALLY don't want to have to pull everything off again and do the install all over, but I also don't want to keep off boost indefinitely (that's not why I bought the IC in the first place). And I drive at least one full heat cycle per day (up to operating temp and down to cold). So do I wait a week? Is that ample time to "cook off" any soap residue that may be lubricating the joint and therefore reducing friction?
