The most important final result with the upgraded intercoolers is reducing power robbing engine killing thermal and heat soak under hard or extended boost loads. I live in a hot desert environment. Last summer I had the stock intercooler on my Viggen. This summer I have the MP Performance Intercooler. What a difference!!!!! When it's 95-100 degrees outside, with Air Con on the car performs very well. Last summer the car in this heat would loose power especially when going up hills under substained boost.
All in all the MP intercooler is worth it, for engine protection alone, but is a requirement when upgrading for more performance especially the larger 2.3 liter which uses the same IC as the 2.0 liter.
