Sounds like you are finally on the way to some fun. Our courses are mostly 2nd, & 3rd gear,(only short time in 3rd) but still have the 180 or less turns to make you slow down where necessary.
I tried to take a turn in 3rd once because I was screaming the engine in 2nd, and it stood up on the two left wheels instead of sliding! Now I am pinned against the driver door looking at the ground. I knew what to do having practiced 2 wheeling in a Chevy carryall (small panel van) in my youth <g> BUT I had a Grant 12 or 13 inch steering wheel and not enough strength to turn. It finally came down right side up. I was so shook up I slowly motored thru the rest of the course. Everyone wanted to know why the bottom of my car was painted the same as the top. They (mostly)didn't know it was a 1971 SAAB Rally car, until then<g> I made no points with my wife that day<g> as I drove 180 miles to Erie Pa. with her and my 4 year old son & 2 year old daughter in the Saab. PS: she wanted to know why it wasn't undercoated also! (we live in the snow belt where they use salt on the roads). I sold that car to buy a Mazda RX2, big mistake.... Great power, but any Saab and I mean any could beat it in an AX.
Opps, sorry old fart remembering again<g>
Later, RGS in Da Burgh
