Sonett III Auxiliary Headlamps

I recently acquired a parts vehicle which also included some boxes of more extra parts. In one of the boxes I found what appear to be a pair of auxiliary headlamps that go in the grille of a Sonett III. other than 40 years of age and some brittle plastic on the electrical connectors, the only thing that was missing were the lamps and the retaining rings that hold the beam lamps in. I picked up a pair of sealed beam 5001 bulbs and a Dorman universal headlamp retaining ring, but it wasn't universal enough. The retaining ring has 5 points to attach it, but no combination will match up to the screw holes in the headlamp frame. I'm guessing that there were never too many of these kits made, so I'm assuming the headlamp frame is an identical piece used by some other European vehicle of the same vintage, but I don't know what. The three screws on the headlamp frames appear to be equally spaced if that tells anything. anyone have a clue where I might look to find some retaining rings that would match up?

Also, I looked on saabsonett.org, and the image in the parts breakdown isn't exactly like mine - I assume there was a change at some point?
