I drive my 3/4-Ton '72 Dodge over that road sometimes. But if I'm driving the SAAB I always end up behind some guy who can't drive his German or Japanese junker fast enough for my taste.
The only thing I have against the Sonett is that there is virtually nothing between the seat shell and your spine on a bumpy road. I used to test drive 99's on a twisty, bumpy back road when I worked for a dealer in Acton MA in 1974-75. If a customer complained about a rattle or squeak, I could usually find it on that road. I took a Sonett down that road once and came back wondering if I had compression fractures. And this is coming from a guy who had Koni's on his '67 96 set just short of the stiffest setting. And they are still that way. The car followed me across the country 11 years ago and is sitting in my garage now. Rebound is so slow that if I push down on the rear, I can stand back and see the car rise back to static, even after 30 years. My old boss in Maryland raced a Formula Vee and he rode in my car one day and complained about how stiff my shocks were set. I never softened them.
