i had one v4 sonnet rescued after 10 years of sitting that had the line solidly filled with purple looking tar. inpatient to let the solvent soak through with a wire rooter, i replaced it with a different metal tubing. (aluminum - i was in the hardware store for something else and there it was). the differential between the bimetal resulted in corrosion of the line and the emptying of the tank into the passenger compartment. not believing my new line could be the problem, i pulled the tank. (this was a good thing since i had a couple of spares in good shape.)if your line is junked up, use a mechanic's wire attached to your drill with solvent to ream it out. it it's rusted out, make sure you use a steel line to replace. i've successfully used braided hose but ole's comment about safety is real. i like putting a section of braided hose between the tank and metal line (behind the seats) to make it easier to drain the tank if the car's been sitting too long, or whatever. roger
