96 rears stiffer than Sonett rears: right. (96 is heavier so needs stiffer springs.)
Assumption that stiffer springs and/or more roll stiffness = 'improved handling': dubious.
Unless you always drive on perfectly smooth roads, stiffer springs will make the car squirrely in bumpy turns. Adding a front sway bar will make it understeer even more than it does already (yikes!)
I'm not saying you might not want to add more stiffness for some specific type of application, just cautioning against the assumption that stiffer is always better (when it comes to springs or sway bars.) The people who designed these cars in the first place were pretty smart; probably had a reason for setting them up the way they did. (You've probably already noticed that a cushy ride was NOT a design priority for the Sonett!)
