it depends on where you live. In Portland, Or. any local checker/kragen/schucks could get me valve cover gaskets for around 5 bucks a set in about a day. Now in Utah, I know they can get them, but they take a few days.
Don't forget most any Ford industrial place. Everytime I call them, though, be it in Utah, Oregon, Idaho, etc. they want to know the size of the engine in cubic inches, not centimeters. I don't know why. Anyway, they usually have had the valvecovers on the shelf...about 4 bucks. This engine is still used in some farm equipment and things like pumps or whathaveyou. It takes some friendly searching from the sales folks at Ford Industrial but they can find the listing.
I've heard some crappy things about fram oil filters and haven't had too many great experiences with them (I can't see spending the extra on Redline products and then using the cheapest oil filter around, but to each his/her own.)
Enjoy, and don't forget all the good sponsors on this site when you need parts. Though some local chains may be able to get you a part, they are much more prone to mistakes and you having to re-order again and again...if you go through someone that knows something about the older saab, you will have much better luck and you'll be perpetuating suppliers for these older, quite rare cars.
