Keep the front flexible to keep the driveline on the ground. VW auto-xers go so far as to disconnect their front bar.
What are you doing in FSP? Are there mod's that put you there? If your going FSP you have a whole bunch of things you can do. i.e. $$$$... 4-bolt hubs, coil-over springs (who knows if you can get them), roll cage (chassis stiffener), limited slip differential, blue-printed (but stock) engine, open induction, open exhaust blah, blah, blah.
I'm going to class my Sonett (once renewed) in either vintage FSP (tread wear of 140 or more because we can't get tires for a car lucky enough to make it to the course under it's own power even with electronic ignition and more managable carbs) or stock street tire indexed. Both are non-nations classes, but they allow for cheaper thrills. Plus it's a feather in my cap when the 900s indexes faster then a Miata or BMW M5.
Most helpful is seat time. Brake sooner, steer and stab. Let the front drive pull you through the corners. Take the direct route. It may seem slower, but it will be quicker at the clock. And look ahead.
