I put an electrical gauge in my Sonett, simply because I figured it would be easier to route a wire than a tube (you have to be careful not to kink the tube; the wire doesn't care.)
I used an Autometer gauge because theirs seemed to be closest in overall style to the other interior fittings, and was small enough to fit. I mounted it to the left of the instrument cluster, in the space where the air conditioner control panel is supposed to go (my car used to have A/C but got all the pieces pulled out after an accident wiped out the compressor.)
Mounting the gauge wasn't hard, but the sending unit took a bit more thought. The Autometer sending unit is fairly fat, and I couldn't screw it straight onto the original sender fitting because the fuel pump got in the way. So I bought a brass tee fitting of the correct size (which escapes me at the moment) in the gas-piping section of a hardware store. This let me install the sender at right angles to the fuel pump, solving the clearance problem, and as a bonus it also let me reinstall the original sender so the warning light still works. (Although the warning light in a Sonett comes on at 4.3-8.5 lb/sq in, so it's really more of a "Replace Engine" light.)
I've got a picture of the sender installation which you can see at the link -- it's over on the left side by the fuel pump.
Hope this helps...
