I am not a racing or performance guy so cannot represent their perspective. From my perspective as a SAAB-owning mechanic, unless you have specific needs for performance components in that department, go with stock.
Oiling systems are equipped with bypass valves that open to reduce pressure once a maximum pressure is reached. A high-flow oil pump will only reach that pressure at a lower RPM; it will not raise oil pressure or flow to critical components. Pumping that extra high-flow oil around in circles will only rob you of performance, not increase it.
Much of the performance hype is, uhhhhhhhhh, hype. If your stock oil pump provides adequate pressure in the type of driving you do, what problem are you trying to solve? If your stock oil pump does not provide adequate oil pressure in your driving type, you need to look first at internal engine clearances, suitability of your oil choice, and I don't know what else but if you talk to the racing guys there is more. I expect there is a place sometimes for a high-flow oil pump, I do not know what it is, but for average driving with occasional fun runs, I expect it is a deficit not a benefit.
