One would think that SAAB's claimed "fastest SAAB ever" would have the shoes to back up that claim. I may understand if one bought the 2.0T, but the Aero is supposedly SAABs high performance model. Putting less than summer tires on it (especially those sold outside the winter belt areas) is both absurd and a travesty, IMO.
If you're (SAAB) gonna tout your car's vaunted performance, M+S tires doesn't inspire confidence. I can't think of one performance oriented car offhand currently available (other than SAAB's current lineup) that sports all season tires.
Imagine BMW's M series or M-B's AMG series on all season tires. Even Volvo, whose long reputation for conservatism is thrown out the door with summer tires on its S60R beastie with on less than 18 inch wheels.
I know treadlife is a major concern with most owners, but when one buys a performance car, one should expect wear related to that performance. Comes with the territory.
Leave all season tires to Accords and Camrys. Not on the new SAAB 9-3 Aero.
My $0.02.
