Well, I have owned 5 Saabs, but cars in general are expensive, and most of us want to feel we have spent our money wisely. I think GM is taking advantage of the fact that there are too many Saab loyalists that just won't consider another make and will keep buying them. I think they are too lazy to take it to the next level and start to cut into the competition instead of handing them more customers. GM has finally accomplished their mission with Cadillac and the new Malibu is actually a satisfying car once again.
When you look at some of the fairly easy and cost-efficient upgrades Saab could make, it is a mystery why GM WILL NOT make the effort.
My new BMW has standard features that Saab charges (a lot) extra for and a customer (even a Saab customer) can appreciate that. When you look at even Saab's standard wheel design, it is an embarassment. The mentality of offering homely base cars in hopes that people will upgrade is outdated and insulting.
I swore I would never even look seriously at BMW's, but after defaulting to Saab time after time, I felt I had to find out what all the hype was about with BMW...they got me. Saab, try harder...A LOT HARDER!
