I would be really upset with the dealer for not being upfront about the damage. I would push for a complete paint job so that all the paint matches. As far as the loss in value, do you really think that a car with 35K plus miles on it hasn't lost value? Get real. People don't give a rat's ass about original paint unless you have a collectable that is being sold at Barret-Jackson. They care that there aren't scratches and pebble dings in the front. don't tell me that you have over 35 K miles and don't have a single scratch.
Just think of all of this as a way to get a new paint job before the warranty runs out. Good luck to you with settling things with the dealer. Remember not to scream while you are asking for an entire new paint job.
