Shoulda visited your place when I was in LA - cept my car was in warranty, and NOW it's not.
Read Melissa's post + your response. It put the fear of God in me; I am in the SAME position. But I have to go to Autozone. Simply do NOT have the monetary means to hitup the local dealership ($90/hr). I'm relatively a competent 'mechanic' when I can diagnose the prob. The issue is, w/ this friggin supercomputer of an ECU, i can't diagnose the prob...
I don't have the previous codes, but I do know they've replaced the DI cass once (that wasn't just a code, my motor would just die), Bosch recirc valve twice, the cat once, and something about the boost regulator once. After the cat replacement, about a year ago, they updated the T7's software. I physically saw them do it thru the TECH2. Perhaps I will look at my service history and try to find any fault codes.
Do you (or anyone for that matter) have any other idea... Should I be buying a Factory Service Manual since I'm out of warranty? My dealership has already done a post-warranty 'good will' service and I can't go back to them again... Heck if I can service an Infiniti Q45 on my own, I can handle this cromagnon GM beast...
just can't believe how often the engine's bad enough to trip the CEL... completely random too. one day runs full boost, next day, de nada. To me, it's STILL a new car, '01 51K miles. I mean, that's NOTHING. Even my POS '88 Mazda RX7 didn't blow til 245K miles... ugh.. so *DISGUSTED* by my ride right now. :(
