I'm kinda in-between on this one. I went to autozone to read a code on a '98 Accord. They read the code ok, but their description of what to fix was way off base. So I used the code # to look up a six-page troubleshooting procedure in my repair book & found a broken solenoid valve.
Even with the code # (even on a Honda), you still don't have it narrowed down to the point where you swap a part. You still need someone like Anders to UNDERSTAND what's going on. Not many of the codes on the Honda are clear-cut for one part.
Repair manual is on CD, it's called WIS. But now it seems you can't even buy the WIS any more. I wish I'd bought one when I had the chance.
