"Character" should not be accompanied by so much noise and vibration. I too would have called it character until I went back and sampled the 2.3 after living with the V6 for 6 months. If there is one thing Honda knows how to build well, it is their motors. 215 lbs-ft of torque available at 2000 RPMs is more total torque than my 9-5 had at any RPM. For its day the 9-5 was an awesome car, however after 9 years on the market and relatively few engineering changes, it just has not kept up with the competition. Here's to hoping the next generation 9-5 surpasses them all.
