I have no knowledge regarding Kumho tires, but over years of driving it's my belief that there are a good many tires out there from quality manufactures with a lower than V or Z rating which are in fact better tires than some of the cheaper V and Z offerings, a speed rating is not always indicative of a tires true attributes in day to day performance, just like the treadwear is often overstated.
It is interesting to note that I believe legally I can run whatever tire I wish on my auto, I have complete confidence in the tires on my Saabs today. But states do mandate the depth of treadwear, because driving with insufficient tread can be deadly, particularily in the rain. Few people can afford to or choose to replace their expensive V rated tires at the recomend safe tread level of 4/32.
So I can either increase my life insurance premiums for my family and continue to run my H rated tires, or switch to those Z rated tires, begin driving like a man and install that drag chute I've been considering.
My goodness this is getting too complicated.
