Bearing life is very complicated. Bearings are lifed simplisticly using a b10 life. That means that 90% of a certain bearing will work for one million revolution at the rated load (force). That means that 10% of bearings would fail prematurely or before the one million cycle (rotation). Now if the rate of failure is pretty high than this could mean a bad design. Also a designer could pick a bearing that has a higher load carrying capacity (over design)in that case it would very likely never fail (statisticlly you will still get a bad one). How many of these did you see on the 9-5. If you want to solve this probklem you need to get a bearing that has the exact same geometry but can take a higher load.
