That might be as a good answer as any. Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sun, 26 Feb 2006 16:22:37 In Reply to: Not necessarily..., Stephen Goldberger, Sun, 26 Feb 2006 15:43:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I find it strange though that Saab haven't come out with a bulletin instructing the dealers to load that latest SW into all cars capable, coming through the doors and by that, minimizing the chances for IDM failure.
Since even the early 2003 doesn't have that SW, you would think it would be in their own interest to get it loaded. All 2003 at least came with the TK 3.6 version IDM.
If the price of the IDM would have been this low at all times, I suspect we would have had a lot less complaints and maybe it would never have reached this proportions with a recall.
You always wonder what car makers are thinking behind the closed doors.
Take Volvo and the electronic throttle module for instance.
They made it so difficult and many dealers didn't honor the CA 7year/70K emission warranty without a fight and now they are stuck with a 10 year/200K extended warranty on that throttle module.
