Thanks! Very helpful. And now I feel stupid because I never even looked it up in WIS. I never considered the sensors because the generic codes sounded like it was a controller communication problem.
I did not previously mention that I also installed a shim on the left rear hub the same night I did the front brakes. Of course, I had that sensor wire unplugged and was fiddling with it a lot to try to keep the wire out of the way when accessing the hub retaining nuts.
I am now wondering if that isn't exactly where the problem lies. Didn't I read in someone else's post recently that vehicle speed is derived from the left rear wheel sensor? I need to look that up in WIS also!
I hope there are also instructions (besides "jiggling the wire") on troubleshooting the sensor. I will look that up tonight.
