Jeff, I agree whole heartedly! I don't care if the new Auto is/was/could be faster than the manual 0-60. I like the feel and control of the 5-speed. Every time I've made the decision to go with an automatic I've regretted it within the first two months. My recent BMW was an auto and it was boring. The past few months with my stick I have really enjoyed driving again. As far as the 4th-5th and vice versa, I use 5th as a cruising gear on the freeway. There wouldn't be too many times when I would feel the need to speed shift in either one of those directions. Sloppy linkage or not, the 5-speed is just flat-out more fun!
