While spring lifts will compensate for a "sagging" (permanently deformed) spring, they probably shouldn't be used to lift the rear end above the factory setting. Then an Aero will still have a potential rear tire wear issue b/c of the geometry of the rear suspension and the fact that the suspension is lowered WITHOUT compensating the camber for it. I have ranted about the rear suspension design before and won't bore the readers with a repeat performance.
The only downside of using spring lifts, rather than new springs, to compensate for a deformed spring is reduced suspension travel. This could actually help though, since the springs are less likely to deform any more if the suspension travel is limited. You could achieve the same effect with new springs by lengthening the bump stops. The big upside to the lifts is, of course, you don't need to purchase and install new springs. You should still have the rear camber adjusted using the shims, which also can be used to adjust toe. They are not hard for an experienced Saab shop to install.
