I know this has been covered many times, but I just replaced my rotted onstar antenna with the "carbon fiber" shark fin from Pep Boys. A couple of coats of satin black paint fixes the faux finish. I cut the top of the shark fin off with a hack saw, then carefully snipped the rest of the body off. What's left is a delta shaped metal piece with a circuit board on top. Broke off the circuit board, then cut the bottom of the Pep Boys antenna out leaving about a 1/4 inch rim. Fits perfectly over the remaining metal piece. Attached using clear RTF. Looks exactly like the original.
