1. Test the voltage between the battery post _WHEN CRANKING_.
2. Test the voltage drop in the negative cable when cranking (by measuring the voltage between the negative posts and the engine block).
3. If the above two tests are ok then the battery and the negative cable are ok. You would then need to measure the voltage on the starter (again when cranking) to figure out whether it is the positive cable or the starter that causing the problems.
