Hmmm....
what can I say?
We all know of the 9-5's quirks and endearing features.
that being said, a neighbor down the street had two Audi's equipped with 2.7T - an A6 and an AllRoad. There is an odd paradox with these ars: absolutely beautifully finished cars - the interiors are to die for - but horrific reliability. They make a Yugo look good. Really. the A6 has recently been traded in for an older S600, and the Allroad is still there. However, on a weekly basis, or so it seemed, one of the cars was up at the dealer. Electrical gremlins in the A6, both turbo's replaced on the AllRoad, bad head gaskets on the Allroad, etc. Just terible; they are very disapointed since, for as long as I could recall, they drove Audi's: Coupe GT Quattros, 5000CS Turbo Q's, etc. Not anymore. they do not like being stranded. the Allroad will be gone shortly. And why does VW/Audi only get 250hp form a 2.7 liter, twin turbo powerplant? ab does the same numbers with a 2.3 liter, single turb0 4 banger.
The M45 is interesting, too but I cannot get around styling that looks like a Japanese car from 10 years ago. A Japanese Buick, if you will.Nissan screwed this one up, too: remember the M30 Coupe? It was at that time a 10 year old design, and they peddled it here as new. Its only redemption: the convertible model.
My suggestion is this price range (after a 9-5, BTW) would be a GS430, from Lexus. Impeccable build quality, and power to blast you socks off. I know sticker may be a litle high, but there should be some room in there on lease.
