I drove an M45 a couple weeks ago. I'm one of the few that like the styling (I admired the Nissan Gloria/Cedric when I'd see one on the web). The motor is awesome and clearly the best part of the car. Brakes, steering, handling were all very good.

But the M45 interior was a bit tight for a guy over 6 foot (I'm 6-4). I was disappointed in the lack of foot room and poor rear seat room when the drivers seat was full back, as I needed it to be. It's one of those cars that's big on the outside and small on the inside. I went right from the M45 to my 9-5 and felt more comfortable; I had more room around me.

IMO, the M45 is great for people under 6 foot, maybe someone 5-8 / 180 lbs would fit best. There are a lot of things to like about the car style-wise and it will be as unique as a 9-5 in its own way. But at $48K I think the M45 is a bit overpriced just as I feel the 9-5 is overpriced at $42K sticker.

I drove an A6 before I bought my 9-5 and was completely unimpressed. Great looking inside and out but it all ends there. Sluggish, ponderous, dull, like the whole car was on novocaine. Looks like one of those European supermodels who have no personality. Crummy dealers killed any desire I had for the Audi.

Have fun shopping. Lots of great cars to choose from.
